Script Defender is a security tool developed by AnalogX, and designed to intercept hidden scripts and prevent them from being executed without the permission of the user. The application itself is very compact and simple to use - once installed you can configure Script Defender to intercept the execution of malicious scripts, such as VBS (Visual Basic), Java Script, and Windows Script Files, among others.
These have been used recently by programmers in order to install or execute malicious code on unsuspecting victims using, for instance, their mail server. What these scripts do is send an e-mail or show a website with what that seems to have innocent content, while the e-mail client or the browser executes the script in the background.
With Script Defender activated, any script that tries to execute itself is intercepted, while a warning message appears asking the user if they want to run the script or not. The only problem is that many websites include scripts for perfectly inoffensive purposes, and every time you want to execute them you may also get a warning message. It is just a matter of preference, but if you want to be completely safe, you should take a look at this program.
